Abstract

SEM image of typical silicon nanowires grown epitaxially on Si(111). Some of the wires jump during the growth from one to another <111> growth direction.
TEM image of a small diameter silicon nanowire grown epitaxially on Si(111). The small diameter wire grew with (112) orientation.
