The growth of Si nanowires, ZnO nanowires and core-shell nanowire and nanotube structures are in the focus of the work. We study the growth conditions for optimizing the growth as well as for better understanding of the involved basic processes. In addition, we are adapting different approaches of nanolithography as templates for ordered nanowire arrays. Optical and electronic properties of doped and undoped nanowires are major of interest.
